The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at East Carolina University is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, fixed-term position as Teaching Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor of Classics beginning August 14, 2017, with a teaching load of four courses per semester.  This position is for the 2017-18 academic year with the possibility of subsequent appointments.  Salary commensurate with qualifications. 

Minimum Qualifications:  MA in Classics required for appointment as Teaching Instructor.  Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Native or near-native fluency in English.  

The ideal candidate will have experience and a record of success and innovation in teaching classical Latin, Attic Greek, and Classics courses in translation. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to teaching and service to the university, to include curriculum development, program recruitment and student mentoring.

PhD in Classics required for appointment as Teaching Assistant Professor.
